This Outfit is Huge on Me!

First Present from Neiman Marcus
My Mom was very excited when she opened this gift! A tradition I’m sure each mom dreams of for her little girl, her first present from Neiman Marcus! Daddy’s client the Madison Group gave me a beautiful silver cup.
My mommy told me that she can’t wait to take me to lunch at the Zodiac Room at Neiman Marcus Downtown Dallas for a pop over with strawberry butter and chicken broth. Yum!

- Five Days Old
I am five days old. I like this vibrating chair but eventually the vibration squinces me up in a little ball at the bottom.

- So Little!
She is just so little! My friend Stacy let us use her cars seats that her twin boys used, hence the blue cover thing. She looks so small in this car seat. It is terrifying driving the car with her in it. We very rarely go anywhere with her, except to my parents house a mile down the road. It is har dto believe that one day she will grow out of this seat.

Sleeping in the Travel Bed
My Friend Jennifer Backover gave me this cool travel bed that folds up and has hard sides. Giada started out sleeping in the bassinette and Moses basket next to me, but even that was too far away for awhile. She sleeps in the travel bed right next to me so that I can pick her up as soon as she cries. She is so sweet and make funny faces while she sleeps.

I’m exhausted. This whole “babies sleep 18 hours out of 24” is a total myth.

Ann Records Giada's Birth
This is where Ann (Brad’s Mom) recorded her name and stats when we called from the hospital. It’s nice to have it in her handwriting!

This is how Giada and I spent the first few weeks together, in bed, either her feeding or sleeping on my chest. I loved having her skin to skin. She just seemed so defenseless when she was held out on her own or wrapped up in a swaddle in the crib. I was scared to death of SIDS and would check on her every 15 minutes it seemed.

We are 4 days out and totally exhausted. Went to the first Pediatrician appointment and everything looks great.

Oh beloved sleep wherefore art thou? Sleep – the lost pleasure. I’ve been pretty happy with breast feeding results until last night. My actual milk came in and Giada was NOT happy with the change in menu from the colostrum. After screaming from about 3 until 11 am she Finally deigned to eat but with with her face scrunched up in total disgust the entire time. Poor little thing, she was like, “Please just give me what I am used to eating!!” She seems to have resigned herself to milk now so hopefully things will go better tonight!
