Gia is already becoming more interested in toys than in people.  She loves to bounce on your knee, playing riding the pony Macaroni.  She does love her mommy better than any toy though.

We had a good Easter with Giada. She went with my mother, her cousins ane and Evie and Aunts Marissa and Maureen to the Dallas Arboretum Easter Egg hunt. Then I took her to the Ursuline Academy Easter Egg hunt.

This is my Aunt Maureen. I spend the night at her house sometimes on Saturdays. She is very fun and watches YouTube Videos with me. She also teaches me about my Irish heritage. Aunt Maureen knows lots and lots about our family history because she is an expert genealogist. She is helping me learn to understand words and is awesome about pointing things out and telling me their names. She also has introduced me to weeding. She can’t wait till I am big enough to help her! Aunt Maureen is big on having a good work ethic. She made my mom learn how to do dishes by hand when she was 4 years old.

Giada isn’t rolling over yet but she is rolling to her side. She doesn’t have a lot of time on her back really and less on her stomach. She likes to be held which is hard trying to work from home. We have a pack ‘n’ play set up with a mobile and some toys and a mirror. She will stay in there for like 15 minutes but I think she is getting tired of the mobile.

She also has 2 swings which we have made be more chairs and she will sit in each of those for about 10 minutes. She’s not so excited about the kick gym anymore either. She will sit in the Bumbo (Bumpbo?) with a tray on it and pay for a bit but gets tired. I think she needs to be a little bigger.

We haven’t tried food yet as she did not like the rice in the bottle but we will get to the store for some baby veggies shortly. She is still going to bed at about 11:30 but I think it is our fault as we don’t go to bed ourselves. We are going to try to move her to the upstairs crib and baby room at 6 months April 23^rd. I anticipate a lot of up and down the stairs for me!

We took Giada to Target with Kate’s twins today for pictures and it was exhausting! We got a couple of good shots of Giada, so I am happy.

I stopped breast feeding on Giada’s 5 month b-day 23rd of March.  Went to the dr. and I was only pumping 6 oz a day even with medication to increase consumption. She was feeding from the breast 2 times in the morning and then was like screw you, this is too hard for what I’m getting – give me a bottle! by lunch time.  The last time I breastfed her was very bittersweet.

I was all torn up about it until I realized that meant that I could take Concerta again – AND WOW! HOW THE DID I EVER LIVE WITHOUT CONCERTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My God – seriously, I got more done in one day than I had I a year and ½.  unbelievable.

We just finished our latest house renovation. Adding stairs from the back of the den into the new office – which was Ann’s old bedroom. Plus we ripped out the bedroom in the guest house and completely redid it with can lights and so on. It looks really good. Brad Basar – Brad’s best friend and out former client has come to work for us – and live in the back house. It has been interesting. The new office is nice if small but it holds me Brad, Brad Basar, Rebecca and Shannon well and makes our business seem separate from our family life which I have been waiting for for a long time.

Giada is getting BIG. She is funny right now and fun to be with, still going to bed at 1:30 though.

My Mom reported: I babysit every Tuesday afternoon for Gia, and this afternoon we went for our first stroller ride.  She seemed to enjoy it and even glanced at the ducks who walk right up to anyone who comes down to the pond.  If no one comes, they go parading up the street to check out peoples’ yards for anything they might be missing.  

Wow! First time away from home. I was a wreck all night and called at like 8:30 am to come get her. When I got there she was happy as a lark.
